NELHS is a Christ centered high school serving young men and women grades 9-12. It is located on the "Crossroads of the Midwest" where I-80 and the I-35/Hwy 81 corridor bisect. Thus it is easily accessible to all points in the Midwest as well as the major population centers in Texas, Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Wichita and are an hour drive from two major airports in Lincoln and Omaha.
NELHS is owned and operated by an association of 49 congregations of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) located primarily in Nebraska. An eighteen member board oversees the operation of the school. It began its first academic year in 1979. In its 31st year of operation, NELHS has students enrolled from around the United States and the world through its International Program.
