NELHS operates a separate boys' and girls' dormitory. They are supervised by the Dean of students, one male and one female supervisor. About thirteen percent of the students are commuters while the rest call the dormitories their home. A regular schedule of meals, study times, bed times and other considerations are part of dorm life. Controlled Wi-Fi and wired high speed internet access and telephones are provided in the all dorm rooms.
Christian worship is important at NELHS. Chapel services are held every weekday morning and evening. Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church of York is pleased to have students worship with them for Sunday services.
